Symone Fairchild has much of the same community desires. Law officials make up community and victims can often feel re-traumatized by them, by the very law officials that were intended to protect and serve. This is Symone's story but she is also a survivor and today, she's raising a six year old boy beside the lessons of her abuse. In 2020. She became the founder and CEO of EyeOnDV, a movement to eradicate domestic violence. Symone has made it her mission to invite other victims in, provide the resources needed, and share her experience with an online community.

"The sound of my son laughing is the sweetest sound to me in the world. And as long as I know that he is happy, healthy, and safe, I can continue doing what I'm doing. Because fighting against injustice, teaches him to do the same. Standing up for others teaches him to do the same. Doing what's right, teaches him to do the same. At the end of the day, at the beginning of the day, my most important job is being his mother."
